ROCK AND ROLL FOR VITAL FUNDS

MUSICAL history was made last night as a Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame supergroup took to the stage to raise money for charity.

The Who's Roger Daltrey led a band of 60s and 70s legends at Ronnie Scott’s in London to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Starring on the drums, fulfilling his lifetime dream, was Richard Desmond - proprietor of Daily Star publishers Express Newspapers - who brought the band together.

Among the dazzling final line-up were: keyboards - Zoot Money and Gary Brooker (Procol Harum); guitars - Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake and Palmer), Gary Moore, Pete Townshend (The Who), saxophone - Nick Newall; vocals - Roger Daltrey and Sam Brown.
