2003 Card: "To all my friends who sent birthday greetings to me via the website, I would like to say how very touched I am by all the warm and supportive comments. The one really cool thing about my birthday is that it serves as a great reminder to me, of all the people who's lives have become entwined with my own through our shared experience of music. On a day such as this, reading all the wonderful heartfelt letters it is hard not to feel like a very lucky man indeed." ~ Best, Greg.
2004 Card: Everyone who signed the 2004 card got a personal reply from Greg via e-mail!
2005 Card: "Absolutely overwhelming! I am so touched. Apart from thanking everyone for their wonderful birthday wishes I would just like to say that I am really looking forward to seeing you all in the coming year as I continue this world tour. Negotiations are currently underway for a tour of the USA and South America early next year and plans are already in the works for shows throughout Europe. "I am having a great time playing these shows here in the UK, the band is on fire and the audience reaction is, to say the very least extremely gratifying. Thank you all."
2006 Card: "I am absolutely overwhelmed by the virtual birthday card. It will take me some considerable time to read through them all, but I will certainly do so. It is a very strange feeling when I see things like this as it really brings home to me how deep the music has penetrated over the years and how lucky I am to have lived the life I have. Once again many thanks, I am deeply touched." ~ Greg.
2007 Card: "I would just like to thank everyone who sent birthday greetings for me on the 10th November 2007. Not only is this birthday list extremely touching from a personal standpoint, it is also very inspiring to hear how the music I have made over the years has reached people on such a deep and personal level. It is most gratifying. Communications such as this are precious to me and something that I don't think I will ever quite get used to. My deepest thanks to you all." ~ Greg.
2010 Card: Greg left a very nice message on his website.
2011 Card: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who recently sent me birthday wishes. I have read through them and can only tell you that I am extremely touched by all the love and warmth they contain. I hope that as time passes I am able to meet each and every one in person but in the meantime please do know how much I treasure your warmth and friendship. Yours Sincerely, Greg Lake."
2012 Card: Greg was leaving for his UK tour the very next day, so unfortunately, we did not get any comments.
2013 Card: "As always, I never fail to be moved by the sincerity and goodwill of all the people who write in with their birthday wishes. As you know whenever I perform I always like to try and meet as many people as possible after the show just to say hello and perhaps have a chance to exchange a few words in the hope that in some way they may create a material bond to something that had previously only existed in a spiritual way through the music. When I receive these birthday messages every year it is a poignant reminder of just how meaningful and important these few moments are. Thank you once again to you and to all who left messages.
