2015 Virtual Birthday Card is ready to sign

October 11th, 2015 – 2:28 pm

As we’ve been doing since 2001 – before there was a Facebook! – we have a virtual birthday card for a certain someone ready for you to sign to be sent to Himself on Nov. 10th. There are just a couple of simple guidelines we always ask you to follow:

1. Birthday wishes ONLY – please don’t ask when is he coming to play a show in your city, or when is ELP getting back together? This is only for birthday wishes.

2. By signing, you agree that Ladies of the Lake can and will edit any post as we see fit (see #1 above).

Please share this as we want to get as many goodwill wishes as possible to make his day!

Sign HERE: 2015 Virtual Birthday Card Don’t comment on THIS post or he won’t see it 🙂

A nice memory of the Isle of Wight Festival

September 4th, 2015 – 6:59 pm

Here’s a nice memory of the Isle of Wight Festival at which ELP made their large-scale debut in 1970. It doesn’t mention ELP, but you get the feeling of how it was to be in the crowd at the festival and how massive it all was. I thought it was a great reminiscence and worth having in the File Cabinet.

Billy James of Glass Onyon PR has issued a press release with news about a reissue of the original Greg Lake Band (with the late, great Gary Moore on blistering guitar) from 1981; their outstanding live concert from the Hammersmith Odeon is getting a reissue soon on CD and vinyl. That’s great news!

Noriko’s Inside “Asia in Asia” Stories

July 5th, 2015 – 11:15 pm

Many thanks to Noriko for sending us not only a new Close Encounter, but an inside story of Greg’s time with Asia in Japan in 1983! She also sent us her hand-written copy of a fan magazine signed by both him and Carl as thanks for showing them kind hospitality when they came to Japan. These stories and the magazine are really unique items of memorabilia and make fascinating additions to our site! Check them out!

R.I.P. Chris Squire, Yes Bassist, 1948-2015

June 28th, 2015 – 7:04 pm

Saddened to hear of the passing of the great Chris Squire, bassist for the prog band Yes, last night. He just announced treatment for a form of leukemia about a month ago. Yesworld.com is confirming this with a very nice photo. R.I.P. sir, you will definitely be missed.

Greg and Chris actually shared a flat way back in their youth.
